Hedging & Pruning

Hedge trimming ensures the hedge remains neat, tidy and an attractive feature of your garden. We work at all heights.

How can we help?

There are many types of pruning techniques and I can advise you on what the best solution for you would be. I can carry out Crown Reductions, Crown Thinning,

Crown Lifting, Pollarding and Branch Removal. These techniques include:

    • Removing limbs that interfere with wires, building facades, gutters, roofs, chimneys, windows or obstruct streets or sidewalks.
    • Removing dead or weak limbs that pose a hazard or may lead to decay.
    • Removing diseased or insect-infested limbs.
    • Creating better structure to lessen wind resistance and reduce the potential for storm damage.
    • Training young trees.
    • Removing limbs damaged by adverse weather conditions.
    • Thinning or removal of unnecessary branches.
    • Improving the shape or silhouette of the tree.
    • I  also offer a Hedge Trimming Service.

Best time for hedges to be maintained is between March and September, check carefully that there are no birds' nests or animals rearing young in the hedge.

Many gardens feature a hedgeline of some description; they provide privacy and security.

Hedge trimming ensures the hedge remains neat, tidy and an attractive feature of your garden.  Doing this regularly trains the hedge to look tight and full and can avoid the need to cut back heavily.  Hedge trimming may also include the reduction in hedge height if required.

Common species of hedges that we deal with are Beech, Hornbeam, Box, Privet, Yew, Cherry laurel, Leyllandii, Holly, Blackthorn, Hawthorn and Berberis.

If you need your hedges trimmed, shaped, maintained or renovated, our team of experienced hedge trimmers can instantly transform your garden by pruning your hedges to look exactly the way you want.
